Yes...I like figures who are screaming...and the black and red graphics in th background are effective. Very cool, and fits the shape quite well. Will it actually be ridden?
It was created more as a piece of art although it is on a quality skateboard deck - so you never know. The problem i am having at the moment is making the painting more tough as at the moment it scratches too easily. If I prime the wood first the colours loose their bite. On the previous one I used acylic car varnish but it didn't work (still scatched too easily). On this one I am going to try painting serveral layers of artist varnish on and see if that makes it tougher. Although by nature skateboard graphics get scratched anyway.

Yes - I am reading a book about skateboard art at the moment and Tony Hawkes had a skateboard design where they produced the artwork to look as if it had been used. It looked really good. I might do that with a board (paint one then get someone to use it for a bit then reclaim it)!!

Pretty awesome piece here Andy. Im not up on the techniques of protecting this kind of thing but something springs to mind that might be a possibility. Logistically i dont know it its possible but have you thought of perhaps protecting it with some fibreglass and resin much like shipbuilders do? I just remember my brother many years ago taking a little runabout back from the dead and doing it all by hand buffing and sanding and doing his own artwork on the back of it and layering fibreglass over it and sealing it with coat after coat of resin. The artwork was totally clear. Just a thought.
I'd be to scared to use it, lol.. but it makes a great wall hanging!
